"In her multi-layered interactive installation, Singing Plants Reconstruct Memory, artist Jo SiMalaya Alcampo makes plants into the keepers of a collective cultural history triggered by a human touch." - Alice Dixon, Curator, Built for Us
Both exhibits will be presented at 401 Richmond, Main Hallway (by Gallery 44) and include the events:
BUILT FOR US - September 17 - October 17
CULTURE DAYS - September 24 - 25
SCOTIABANK NUIT BLANCHE - October 2
401 Richmond St. West
Open to the public: Monday to Saturday 10 am to 6 pm
Every Fall, 401 Richmond celebrates arts and culture with special exhibition programming and events that engage the creative community in the building and beyond. This year the program includes the annual group exhibition BUILT FOR US that encourages selected artists to use the adapted factory building for installations that build relationships between art, space, and the community. BUILT FOR US will also be participating in the inaugural Culture Days on September 24 and 25 and Scotiabank Nuit Blanche on October 2 from 6:57 pm to sunrise.
