Jo is a proud supporter of Carlos Bulosan Theatre (CBT) the longest standing Filipino-based theatre company in Canada.  She worked as an actor, stage manager, and co-director on the following CBT productions:
  • Home Sweet Home (1993-1994) a play about violence against women in the Filipino-Canadian community
  • No Boundaries (1995) a play about economic changes that affect the lives of Filipinos in Canada
  • Walang Sugat/Undefeated (1996, 1998) a Sarswela (musical) set in 1896 when Filipinos took arms to resist Spanish rule

More recently, Jo has participated in CBT’s annual showcase of emerging Filipino-Canadian playwrights and theatre artists:

In 2011-2012, Jo participated in CBT's Play Creation Unit, led by Marjorie Chan.  Jo's historical drama, Hilot means Healer explores a Filipino family's attempt to heal soul wounds that cut across generations. 

The first public reading premiered to a sold out audience at Tales from the Flipside 2012

In 2010-2011, Jo participated in CBT's Play Creation Unit, led by Marjorie Chan.  She worked with an ensemble of emerging playwrights to develop a play through a collaborative scriptwriting process. 

Tempting Remo is about modern love and Filipino traditions.  Presented at Tales from the Flipside 2011

In 2009-2010, Jo participated in CBT's Play Creation Unit, led by Marie Beath Badian, as an emerging playwright.  In her first play, the inviable heart, a Filipina-Canadian asks her ancestors how to make a wounded heart viable again.  Jo performed the one-person play at Tales from the Flipside 2010: Islands
