Jo SiMalaya Alcampo presents her installation, Paalaala/Remembrance: 5 Stages of Decolonization at the 2009 Images Festival 2009 as a part of the group exhibition Outer and Inner Space. Co-presented with XPACE, this marks the first time student media art work occupies a gallery space at the Images Festival.
The projects in Outer and Inner Space introduce an emerging generation of artists whose hybrid development of the moving image cross boundaries of film and video, while simultaneously negotiating formations of identity through both the popular and the personal by way of the frameworks of subculture, nationalism, family and society.
Featuring artists Jo SiMalaya Alcampo, Liam Crockard, Mark Pellegrino, Megan Rooney, Brad Tinmouth, and Matthew Williamson.
